Patients come to us either as direct patients or from a health agency referral. There is an approximately one to two years in waiting time for children, and approximately 6 months for adults.
Appointment for the 1st consultation will be made when the patient is next on the waitlist. During the 1st consultation, the doctor will review the information provided to determine if the patient meets our neurorehabilitation care criteria. This process includes a meeting with the patient and/or family to gather pertinent information and a history, neurological/cognitive diagnosis, open discussion on concerns and to answer any questions, and to discuss the appropriate therapy and expectations.
We will help to design an individualized treatment plan and to reach anticipated goals. Appointments will then be made for therapy to begin.
We have both Adult and Pediatric programs designed individually for patients experiencing difficulties as a result of brain injury or other related neurological impairments.
Depending on the type of patient, with the scheduled appointments, patients can expect to receive therapy that includes Non-Invasive Brain Stimulation (NIBS) with Cognitive or Mobility therapies using leading edge rehab equipment. Take home task and suggestions will be given when necessary.
The patient’s case manager and doctor will work closely with the family, keeping everyone informed about the treatment plan. We believe it is important for the entire family to be active participants in the development of therapy goals.
